Tooth Implant Replacement Options
Depending on how many teeth need to be replaced, the team at Pleasant Dental offers different dental implant solutions. These include:
- Dental Implant Bridges
- Dental Implant Crown
- Implant Supported Dentures
Dental Implant Crowns
A fixed prosthesis, or crown, can replace one or more teeth. Fixed prosthodontics involves the replacement of a tooth with a prosthesis that is cemented onto teeth (or for some implants, screwed into place through the prosthesis and into the implant).
Dental Implant Bridges
If you’re missing multiple teeth, an implant bridge is an efficient option. Depending on the size of the area, two implants are usually placed to support the bridge. After the implants have healed, we’ll take an impression of the implants. From there, the information is evaluated in a lab, and the final dental implant bridge is created. At your second appointment, the bridge is attached to the implants. At this same appointment, the fit and comfort of the bridge will be optimized to your current teeth. Our team is unique in this sense, as we place our clients’ comfort, implant function and tooth aesthetic above all else!
Implant-Supported Dentures
Another successful option for replacing multiple teeth is an implant-supported denture. This kind of implant is used when a patient doesn’t have teeth in their jaw, but still has sufficient bone in the jaw to support implants. Similar to a bridge, after the implants have been installed and healed, an impression is taken and the implant-supported dentures are created to fit seamlessly with your original teeth.
